BHEL to commission India's largest CFBC utility project in 6 months |

Vadodara: BHEL will commission the country’s largest CFBC utility project of 250 MW capacity, being set up in Neyveli in the next six months. This was disclosed by Alok Mathur, General Manager, BHEL, New Delhi.
He also said that orders for two 250 MW Circulating Fluidised Bed Combustion Boilers (CFBC) are expected to be placed on BHEL soon by the Bhavnagar Energy Company Limited (BECL), Gujarat.
The Fluidised Bed Combustion and Heat Recovery Steam Generators (FBC & HRSG) product group of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirappalli had organized a one-day Customer Meet at Vadodara (Gujarat) on Thursday. The meet was attended by more than 100 of it's customers from across the country.
Technical presentations were made by BHEL on design developments and field issues of BFBC/CFBC and HRSGs.
Karunakara Reddy, General Manager, FBC & HRSG, BHEL, Tiruchirappalli said that this Second Customer Meet was organized to deliberate on the technical advancements in the field of FBC and HRSG and to gather feedback from the customers, following the success of the first meet held in Chennai in February, 2009.
Dr S K Calla, CMD, Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL), lauded BHEL for its acumen in solving the teething problems in HRSGs and stabilizing the design and operations of the plants.
Mr SL Bose, Executive Director, Surat Lignite Power limited (SLPP), Gujarat Industrial Power Corporation Limited (GIPCL,)who was the chief guest for the session on BFBC/CFBC boiler, said, the country’s first 125 MW CFBC boilers commissioned by BHEL, in as early as 1995, in Gujarat was performing exceedingly well with high degree of availability.
