Potsdam Germany: FACTON will be appearing at the forthcoming "Hannover Messe" with a new customer: WITTENSTEIN, the company of VDMA (German Engineering Federation) President Manfred Wittenstein and the internationally leading supplier of modern drive systems. Like Airbus and Brose before it, this high-tech enterprise from Igersheim has opted for FACTON's Product Lifecycle Costing Solution.

FACTON is the only database-based software which allows for the product costs to be calculated at an early date for all phases of the product-creation process. WITTENSTEIN is now in a position to make its products market-ready much faster, thereby increasing its competitiveness even further. FACTON and WITTENSTEIN will be presenting the successes which have been achieved at an event organized by both companies on April 24th, at the "Hannover Messe".
"As a globally operating manufacturer of innovative high-tech products, it is also of the utmost importance for us to be able to produce swiftly and cost-effectively," according to Manfred Wittenstein, Managing Director of WITTENSTEIN AG. "FACTON is an important contributing factor in our efforts to further accelerate development processes and reduce production costs."

Date: Thursday, April 24, 2008
Starting time: 1 pm
Venue: Convention Center CC / room 17

By virtue of interfaces to the PDM- and ERP system, and in conjunction with FACTON, WITTENSTEIN is able to estimate projected production costs for new development projects quickly and keep a record of these during the entire development process. In the course of these activities, FACTON provides valuable support with regard to choices relating to product design and "Make or Buy" decisions as well as in selecting exactly which variation of the product should be manufactured. Using FACTON'S product cost optimization, significant cost reductions can thus be achieved.

"The ability to recognise future manufacturing costs at an early date makes it possible for companies to realise enormous savings," according to Thoralf Nehls, CEO of FACTON GmbH, the world's leading provider of Product Lifecycle Costing Solutions. "For companies who are trying to stay abreast of today's globalised competition, a modern PLC system is absolutely essential."

By attending this year's trade fair in Hanover, FACTON is seeking to expand its market presence. In 2007, FACTON was able to acquire leading German industrial companies as customers, and also managed to further expand their position on the American market. The PLC software solutions provider would like to build on these developments even further in 2008.

FACTON GmbH was founded in Dresden in 1998. Today, the company also has locations in Potsdam, Hamburg, Barcelona and, as of 1 July 2007, Detroit (USA). The company currently employs 45 people - and the number continues to grow. The primary target industries for FACTON are the automotive industry (tiers 1 and 2), the machine-building industry and the aerospace industry.

WITTENSTEIN will be presenting the application and benefits of FACTON products in the day-to-day industrial operations of the company during a presentation at the "Hannover Messe".
