Anjani sets up Waterjet Machine manufacturing facility at Greater Noida Print E-mail

Noida: Anjani Technoplast Ltd, a hi-tech CNC Waterjet cutting machines manufacturer, has inaugurated its fourth manufacturing facility at Greater Noida. With 200,000 sq feet of work area available, this is now the company's largest manufacturing facility.

The Rs.40 crore facility will be further modernized by investing approximately Rs.3 to 4 crores for automation technology. Approximately 200 people are employed at the new facility.

Waterjet is a relatively new technology and can cut anything from paper to steel.

Anjani facilityIn an exclusive interview with MACHINIST.IN, Mr. Sudhir Agarwal, Dy. General Manager (Machine Tool Division), Anjani Technoplast said that the company has invested approximately Rs. 40 crore in the new facility.

"Anjani offers machines which are 30% - 40% cheaper than equivalent imported machines. We have developed lot of parts in house, which had to be imported earlier. Due to low manufacturing costs our prices are low," he said.

"The machines find good demand in Defense, aerospace and architectural industry. We have exported machines to Germany and have taken part in International exhibitions like the EMO Hanover and the machine tool exhibition in Dubai."

"As an Indian manufacturer, Anjani, is able to compete globally with world class machine builders while remaining cost effective, because most of the facilities are available in house."

"Anjani is also planning to make CNC Plasma cutting machine & Robotic Waterjet cutting machine, ballistic protection of Vehicles etc," he said.

"Presently we have no competitors in India," he added. "Waterjet is a relatively new technology and can cut anything from paper to steel."

"Since this is a cool cutting operation it has no thermal influence on the materials. Therefore no secondary cut required," he told MACHINIST.IN

Anjani waterjet machine shop floorSpeaking about further investment plans, he said that the company is planning to invest around Rs.3-4 crores for automation. "We have installed more that 2 dozen machines so far."

"We are on the lookout for good technical persons for machine design & manufacturing."

He said that the company is planning to introduce Plasma cutting and Low cost & compact Waterjet cutting machines. "We are also making Hydraulic Press up to 1300 Tons & Machining Centers (Routers)," he said.

"Budget 2008 is good news for the machine tool industry & buyers due to the decrease in excise duty," Sudhir said.

On Feb 20th 2008, presenting the welcome address & sharing some of his experiences, R.K. Gupta, MD of Anjani Technoplast Ltd, said, "We started in 1988 as a small thermoforming company - 'Anjani Thermoformers Pvt. Ltd.', with just one thermoforming machine, lots of hope and enthusiasm. On 20th Feb in the 20th year of our existence, we pledge to work every day to make our humble contributions to achieve Vision 2020 of making India a developed country."

A play was organized by the Anjani staff portraying the company's success journey. Bollywood singer Vinod Rathore and upcoming singer Kelly Singh enthralled the audience by singing popular Bollywood songs.

Anjani is the first company in India to manufacture 5 Axis CNC water-jet cutting machines. Anjani has now entered into collaboration with International companies for vehicle armouring and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) manufacturing. The company is also developing armouring solutions for Naval and Aerospace applications.

Anjani Technoplast Ltd had exhibited their 5 Axis CNC water-jet cutting machine and armouring application solutions at DEF Expo 2008. The company will be participating in the upcoming Modern Machine shop 2008, 25 - 29 April 2008 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
