In the recent tender for the augmentation of raw material receipt and handling facilities with New Ore Handling Part,Part B; Package-061 at Bhilai Steel Plant,HEC was declared the lawest bidder at Rs.1038 crores amidst stiff competition from M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.
 
With this achievement HEC scales a new height in EPC business growth in its history.The project is to be completed in a time bound manner within 30 months from the date of award of the order.
 
This turnkey work broadly comprises of design,engineering, manufacture, supply, erection,testing & commissioning the complete coal handling plant from concept to commissioning.
 
The major equipments under this project are:
 
1) WAGON HANDLING SYSTEM ie. WAGON TIPPLER,SIDE ARM CHARGER, APRON FEEDER, PADDLE FEEDER ETC.
 
2) YARD EQUIPMENTS ie.TWIN BOOM STACKER, BUCKET WHEEL RECLAIMER, ETC.
 
3) CONVEYOR and RELATED EQUIPMENTS.
 
  As a part of the growth strategy being formulated by HEC, the turnkey project business is being given the right focus as HEC is confident of playing an important role in the growth plan of  the nation.
 
For achieving this  objective there is a separate project  division, headed by Shri S.R.Sahay,with a dedicated and excellent team of engineers who are confident and capable of handling large projects of such magnitudes.
 
Further strengthening of the project team,keeping in view the different projects, has already been started and strategic planning for on time execution of various sactivities of the project is being done.
