Phoenix Yule ( Kolkata ) : new steel cord press commissioned |

Kolkata : Phoenix Yule Ltd, manufacturer of Conveyor belts in South Asia, has announced the installation and commissioning of another Conveyor Belt Press at their factory in Kalyani. The German Major has installed a 15-meter long Steel Cord Belt Press Line. This investment in Steel Cord Production would enhance the capacity by 150%.
This is the second steel cord press of the company, which comes with an investment of Rs.28 crores and would significantly contribute to the growth and turnover of the Company. The new Steel Cord Belt Press after installation would result in higher productivity on account of redeployment of manpower, multiskilling, outsourcing of non-core functions and optimizing cycle time.
The project has been successfully completed within a record time of 8 months. The trial production has been flagged off on 5th May ‘07. This investment is seen as a reconfirmation of the German Principal’s faith in the Government machinery as well as other stakeholders. “The operation of the new press is aimed at enhancing production capacity to meet the increasing demand of customers and enhance productivity at large,” says Mr. T.K. Mukherjee, Managing Director, Phoenix Yule Ltd. He expressed his faith and trust on employees, stakeholders and other Government machinery who made this investment a reality.
