Altius Autoworld, a company started by Argentum Director and former Hyundai President B V R Subbu, in collaboration with Gulliver International, one of Japan’s largest used car distribution businesses, will invest Rs 1,000 crore over five years to set up a multi-brand service network across India.

The new company would offer after sales and service support for high end luxury cars, used cars, commercial vehicles and construction equipments.

During the first phase ending December 2009, Altius plans to invest Rs 300 crore to set up 20-30 after sales outlets across 12 states with Delhi and Chennai being the main hubs. At the end of five years the company would have around 300 outlets throughout the country.

In addition to providing complete service backup to high-end cars after they have exhausted their manufacturers warranty, the company will also service heavy commercial vehicles (HCV) and construction machinery. Outlets providing these services will be based around ports, developing urban centers and big infrastructure projects. The company plans to have its first service centre for luxury cars in Mumbai and it will begin operations in October.

Subbu said that they were developing a team of highly-skilled manpower to ensure they provide consistent quality to different vehicle segments.
