CII's Conference On Sourcing - India Emerging As A Global Sourcing Hub Print E-mail

Chandigarh: With a view to provide insights from Indian and internationally based managers on India as a hub for global sourcing, Confederation of Indian Industry, Northern Region is organising a Conference on Sourcing: India Emerging as a Global Sourcing Hub on 8th August 2008 at CII NR Headquarters, Chandigarh.

Talking about the Conference as a vibrant platform to mobilize opinions and suggestions for adopting a global approach to Sourcing visioning and planning for the Region, Mr Sachit Jain, Conference Chairman & Executive Director, Vardhman Group said, "To produce services where they can be most efficiently produced and to deliver where they are most valued is true globalization. Sourcing provides opportunities for organizational transformation and helps the organizations to mature."

The Conference on Sourcing has been designed with a vision to share best practices and experiences, generate new knowledge and provide path for India to emerge as a Global Sourcing Destination The Conference will also enable understanding of the intricacies of managing outsourcing and supplier relationships while keeping into consideration the risks in global sourcing.

Talking about the session planning, Mr Jain said, "In the current scenario while India takes the advantage of global sourcing being a low-cost destination; relatively safer place for IP protection, language capabilities and know-how of the people regarding the requirements of global sourcing, the Conference shall also focus on SCM & sourcing, Supply Performance Measurement & Talent management and retention management in sourcing."
