CII Facilitates A Mission To Companies In Gurgaon & Noida To Share The Best Practices In The Manufacturing Sector

Gurgaon: "The CII Mission provided us an opportunity to visit and share the experience of the companies who are leaders in their respective fields represents the strongest source of advantage in today's competitive world" said Mr  Manjit Singh Saini, Mission leader and CEO & Executive Director, Paramount Instruments Pvt Ltd at the conclusion of the two day Manufacturing Mission, organized by the CII Haryana State Council on "Showcasing of Best Practices and Sharing of Success Stories"  in Gurgaon and Noida.

With India taking center stage in the world economic arena, opportunities for Indian companies are fast proliferating hence its imperative that companies understand, create and deliver to world-class standards and learn form companies that have made a mark in the Global arena.

The two day Manufacturing Mission visited Subros Limited, Maruti Suzuki India Limited on 24th July and  Samtel India Limited and LG Electronics Limited on 25th July. The visit to these companies focused on meetings with the  Senior Management, Presentation by these Companies on their best practices, discussions and visit to Key Facilities with an objective of sharing success stories, innovative business practices and augmentation of quality and adapting technology to suit the needs in India and also focused on continuous improvement at each level encompassing all business processes.

At Subros Ltd the Mission delegates were shown the state of the art facility where  compressors, condensers, cooling units and Evaporators were manufactured. Three presentations were made to the mission delegates on the best practices related to 5S Concept, QC tools training, KAIZEN and TPM quality tools which have been followed  by SUBROS. The presentation also highlighted the Supplier System Improvement Group which involves focused activities for gaps identification and better involvement of engineers and vendors.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd shared with the delegates their approach to Quality through innovative technologies being used for assembling the minutest parts of the Car  and their focus on Low cost automation. A corporate film  showcasing Maruti's best practices at the shop floor and adoption of people friendly approach which had helped Maruti maintain its No. 1 position  was also shared with the delegates.

The Mission delegates were shown the superior technology used for new product development, usage of IT and display technology in picture tubes in Samtel Ltd Noida. A presentation  highlighting the best practices being used for training and development for employee involvement was also made to the delegates.

LG Electronics Ltd shared  with the delegates the latest technology being used by them for manufacturing washing machines, Telivision monitors and refrigerators. The presentation made to the mission delegates emphasized upon LG's focus on the Quality tools such as Six Sigma, 5 S which have helped them manufacture products that have helped them withstand the stiff competition  from other companies manufacturing similar products.

The Mission delegates greatly appreciated the hospitality and the information sharing by these companies.

Managing Directors, CEOs, Managers and Senior Representatives from Minda Industries Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd, Sona Somic Lemforder Components Ltd,  Paramount Industries Pvt Ltd, Poddar Tyres Ltd, Su-Kam Power Systems Ltd, Groz Engineering Tools (P) Ltd, Tecumseh India Pvt Ltd, Desiccant Rotors International Pvt Ltd, Kohlapur Engineering Association, GKN Driveline, Bairathi Shoe Company Pvt Ltd, SNG Metals Pvt Ltd were part of this two day Manufacturing Mission.
