IMTMA Summit to help Indian Mfg Industries overcome Productivity challenges Print E-mail

New Delhi: Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association is conducting the 3rd successive Productivity Summit on 8th and 9th August in New Delhi, to bring about an awareness of the latest concepts and practices used to improve productivity in the Indian metalworking industry and make them globally more competitive 

The two day Productivity Summit 2008 will be inaugurated by Mr.R.Seshasayee, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland Ltd. on 8th morning at Lutyens in Mehrauli-Gurgaon road.

Ever increasing growth opportunities and soaring input costs coupled with continuous thrust on cost reduction has increased the relevance of the Productivity Summit in offering ideas and answers to face them successfully.   

According to Mr. N.K. Dhand, President, IMTMA, “The key objective of Productivity Summit 2008 is to create a ripple effect in productivity enhancement in the Indian Manufacturing Industry”.

Designed to highlight learning through case studies, the Productivity Summit 2008 will bring together Productivity “Gurus”, champions and aspiring leaders on a common platform to share experiences, ideas and thoughts on new challenges facing productivity in metalworking manufacturing industries. 
 

Spread over five technical sessions, the summit will present key notes on each of the following session themes from experts in manufacturing productivity:

    * Manufacturing System Redesign
    * Better asset utilization
    * Optimizing Metal working processes
    * Productivity through quality improvement
    * Productivity improvements in SME sector

Considered to be a ‘must attend annual event’ by decision makers and key players of Indian Metal working industry, the Productivity Summit will be attended by about 600 delegates from across India. 

IMTMA-SIEMENS productivity Championship awards 2008: The highlight of Productivity Summit 2008 will be the IMTMA-SIEMENS Productivity Championship awards – to recognize and reward productivity champions for their outstanding contribution in achieving superior performance through sustained productivity improvement. 

Short listed case studies of the best productivity improvement projects implemented by Indian companies will be presented live at Productivity Summit 2008 to select the winners for the prestigious IMTMA-SIEMENS productivity championship.

Productivity Shop

A concurrent exhibition at the Productivity Summit 2008- “Productivity Shop” would show case the latest innovations and developments in productivity improvement in metal working industries displayed in the form of publications, equipments, product samples, CAD CAM Software etc.

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (IMTMA) has been in the forefront of championing the productivity movement in Indian Metal working industries. The productivity summit in 2006 and 2007 has been resounding success   in bringing awareness of the latest concepts and practices in productivity improvement to a wide cross section of manufacturing professionals.
