Friday, 8 August 2008: CII (NR) Headquarters, Chandigarh

Chandigarh: In a flat world, global firms prefer sourcing materials from cheaper and cost-effective destinations without compromising on quality of the goods they are procuring. India is fast emerging as a hub for global sourcing not only for IT or ITeS, but also in traditional sectors like apparel, automotive, special chemicals and electronic components.

With India poised for a formidable position, in a fiercely competitive borderless world, wherein, a vendor can be located on one tip of the Globe and the buyer at the opposite tip, the mantra is survival of the fittest. Therefore, SOURCING is emerging as key driver for change to achieve excellence in business operations.

With this in view, CII is organising a Conference on Sourcing scheduled on Friday, 8 August 2008 at  CII(NR) Headquarters, Chandigarh from 1000 - 1800 hrs.

KPMG is the Knowledge Partner for the Conference.

Mr Sachit Jain , Executive Director , Vardhman Group  will address the welcome remarks. Special address will be delivered Mr Pravir Kumar , Joint Secretary , Ministry of Micro , Small & Medium Industries, Government of India. Mr Ramesh Srinivas, Executive Director, KPMG. Mr Raj Jain , President WM India and CEO & Managing Director , Bharti Wal- Mart India and Mr Rammohan Mittagunta, Head - Global Retail Solution, Satyam  include the list of eminent speakers.
