Second Edition of Energy Excellence Exhibition in Trichy - Energex 2008 Print E-mail

New Delhi: CII Trichy Zone is organizing the second edition of "Energex 2008 - a three day Energy Excellence Exhibition" from 26th to 28th September 2008 at St John Vestry Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School Grounds, Trichy. The objective of Energex 2008 is to showcase the potential of Trichy zone as the Major Engineering hub and Energy Equipment and Fabrication Capital of the Country.

The first edition Energex 2005 held in September 2005 was an outstanding success with 50+ exhibitors and 3000+ business participants attending the three days event generated a business worth of Rs 200 crores.

While addressing the press conference, Mr Senthil Annamalai, Chairman, CII Trichy Zone mentioned that India's quest for energy security and sustainable development rests a great deal on our ability to tap energy from clean coal technologies and renewable sources to meet our growing and diverse needs.

Trichy, with its fast growing cluster of energy equipment manufacturing units is set to consolidate its position as the "Energy Equipment and Fabrication Capital of India".

With 4 large and leading boiler manufacturers, 30 pressure parts and boiler parts manufacturers, 300+ fabrication units, 200+ machine shops, 10 wind mill tower manufacturers besides a pool of talent in design and R & D in the energy equipment and fabrication solutions, the city is the suitable base for the power equipment capital of the country.

While briefing the technicalities of the Event, Mr P V Kannan, Chairman, Energex 2008, CII Trichy Zone said that, Today the units have sound expertise for designing and making a wide range of boilers and boiler components, heat exchangers and pressure vessels, heat recovery systems, desalination, deaeration and water treatment equipments, piping and structurals, machining wind mill equipments and earth moving equipment.

With the country's power sector poised for a big leap, Trichy has a pre-eminent place in the power equipment manufacturing sector in India. Today many companies in Trichy have started making products for South East Asian and Middle East markets.

The event will be an ideal platform for manufacturers of Energy Equipment manufacturers to showcase their capabilities to Engineering Project Contractors (EPC) Contractors, turnkey consultants, Wind-mill equipment manufacturers & State Electricity Boards to further expand their businesses.

For the suppliers of Fabrication Equipments & Electrodes the event would provide an opportunity to showcase a wide gamut of equipments, solutions for the fabrication industry.

Energex 2008 would facilitate EPC Contractors, Turnkey Consultants, Wind Mill Equipment manufacturers to Identify & shortlist a wide range of competitive suppliers and manufacturers of Boilers, Boiler Components, and Fabricated products.

Some of the key exhibitors already confirmed their participation at Energex 2008 include; BHEL; Cethar Vessels, Ansaldo Caldaie Boilers; Carborandum Universal Ltd; RRB Energy; GK Sons Engineering Enterprises; American Environment Technologies Ltd, amongst others.

The event would have 80+ Exhibitors from all over India and from Select Countries like China, UK and USA. Coinciding with the exhibition, a one and a half day conference is being organized on 26 & 27 September 2008. The conference would focus on "Advanced Technologies in Power Generation" with a theme of "Power to Power the World".

The Conference covers three exclusive sessions including Super Critical / High Efficiency Technologies for Utilities; Sub Critical / Other Technologies for Industries and Green Energy Technologies for the Globe. This conference is a simple initiative to innovate and to build new structures and technologies to meet out the energy demands of the 21st century.

More than 400 delegates, over 60 exhibitors and 5000 business and trade visitors are expected to participate in the event.

It is a forum to nurture business contacts, imbibe the latest technology trends, cultivate business relations and prepare for the exponential growth of clean and renewable sources in India.
