Mumbai: Honda Siel Power Products Ltd has decided to shift its manufacturing facility from Rudrapur to Greater Noida for economic reasons and to transfer all employees to Greater Nodia effective August 25, 2008.
Accordingly the production has stopped with effect from August 25, 2008. There have been some IR (Industrial Relations) disturbances due to this, which are in the process of being sorted out, pursuant to which the process of shifting will commence.
It makes sense for the company to shift component making to Greater Noida as this will save costs. In 1988 Honda Siel Power Products Limited started manufacturing machine components in Uttarakhand.
Honda Siel Power Products Limited (HSPP), formerly known as Shriram Honda Power Equipment Limited, is a joint venture between Honda Motor Co. Japan and Siel Ltd., with 67% Equity Stake of Honda Motor Co. Japan.
It is engaged in the manufacturing of Portable Generators, Water Pumping Sets and General Purpose Engines at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Greater Noida, Rudrapur and Pondicherry. |
