Gantry automation to auto load/ Unload 2-wheeler component

Brief Description:
Gantry loader comprises of servo pneumatic rod less drive (Type SPC11.. & DGPIL..) With other actuators likeFESTO Micromatic grinding rotary actuator (Type DRQD..), linear slide (Type DFMB..) and grippers (Type HGPP..). For component loading and unloading 7-station high precision indexing type conveyor are used. Components have to be manually loaded onto the conveyor v blocks. Ratchet, pawl and pneumatic cylinder combination have been used for indexing. Twin precision gripper (HGPP) with 3 position sensing (SMH…) has been used with a rotary actuator. Component picks from conveyor V block by the loading gripper and moves to grinding zone. Once grinding operation completes, finish component will be picked by unloading gripper and index to 90 degree then place the new component for further grinding operation. Hydraulically actuated tailstock pushes the component into automatic driver and grinding operation starts. Finished component will be gently placed onto unloading conveyor and operation continues. "POKA-YOKE" has been established at the loading conveyor to avoid wrong loading of the component.

Basically used for 2 wheeler components grinding. It can be established for different type of applications too.

 Festo has wide range of products, which can be integrated quickly to achieve certain automation solutions. HGPP gripper can sense 3 positions of the component say gripper close, open and presence of component etc. This is important to avoid accidence at the grinding zone. Sturdy design and built in shock absorber of DFM slides reduces cycle time since it can be operated optimally without any problems. The DRQD rotary actuator does its function so accurately and moreover integration of all these items does not take much time since all items are designed for complete automation solution for machine tools. Moreover DGPIL gantry slide with integrated linear encoder can be positioned in between 2 more stations in addition to dead end positions reduces linear slide to pull the component from the fixture and the same is achieved by SMART POSITION CONTROLLER.
