Chandigarh: India's march towards being globally recognized as I.T. hub lies in the rapid and extensive development in Information Technology and its Integration with other sectors of Industrial development and most significantly manufacturing sector. One of the most significant application is Computer Aided Technologies namely CAD, CAM, RP & CAE which are powerful and flexible tools for New Product Design and Development and aid quick problem solving more accurately by integrating analytical and simulation techniques. The development of a simulated prototype of a future system is highly effective for visualizing the system through it's' design and development phases and provide timely feedback to prevent field failures.

CII - LM Thapar Centre for Competitiveness for SMEs, Chandigarh has been taking initiative in promotion of New Product development Tools through various seminars which has been largely appreciated in the last four years where a large number of people have participated representing companies from Automotive, Aero Space, Automotive Electronics, Light and Heavy Engineering.
