5 - 7 October 2008 , Hotel Kalasagar,Mumbai - Pune Road, Pimpri, Pune
In order to address various aspects on 'Why' & 'How' of Preventive & Break-down maintenance, IMTMA is organising a three day workshop on "Effective Maintenance of CNC Machines for Productivity Improvement" on 5-7 October 2008 in Pune.
The National Survey on reliability of CNC machines conducted by IMTMA highlighted the difficulties confronted by users in controlling the downtime of CNC machines.
Further interactions indicated the need to familiarise and upgrade the knowledge base of end users in optimizing CNC machine tool usage for maximum productivity. With most companies adopting CNC technology, where preventive maintenance is of paramount importance, it is necessary to expose the production & maintenance personnel to various Sub-systems of CNC machines.
Effective usage of CNC machines is the key to achieve anticipated results & with rapid changes in hi-precision manufacturing process, there is a need to continuously update the knowledge and skills of the ’Man-behind-the-Machine’, so as to precisely use them for maximum benefit.
OBJECTIVES
Diagnostics is the most important aspect of maintenance, which is most often ignored. Maintenance engineers competent in a particular discipline may have limited knowledge or information of other disciplines, resulting in a fragmented approach to problem solving. This workshop will provide maintenance and service engineers basic inputs on preventive and break-down maintenance aspects, through simple presentations. The cross-disciplinary approach to problem solving would help engineers do a better job. This three-day workshop aims to help participants to ;
* Familiarise with various Sub-systems of CNC machines. * Assist users to identify faults in various components of CNC machines. * Report faults correctly to the manufacturer. * Systematic approach to diagnostics and problem solving. * Discuss specific problems with faculty.
FOCUS AREAS
· Preventive & Break-down Maintenance of Electronics & Electrical Sub-systems (CNC Controllers, Feedback System, Spindle Drive Motors & Controllers, Linear Motors, Integral Spindle Motors, Feed Drive Motors & Controllers, PLCs, Feedback Devices, Power Supply & Electrical Cabinet and Spare parts Management.) · Concepts of CNC Programming for Maintenance Engineers · Remote Diagnostics and e-Productivity · Preventive & Break-down maintenance of Mechanical Sub-systems in CNC Lathes, CNC Machining Centers & CNC Grinding machines (Turret Indexing, Turret Clamping, Work Holding devices, ATC, APC, Spindle assembly, Slides & Guide ways, Ball screws, bearings, Gear Box assembly and Spare parts Management.)
FACULTY
Industry experts and renowned manufacturers of CNC Control systems & CNC machine tools such as FANUC INDIA, SIEMENS, PREMIER Ltd, TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd., BFW Ltd., PMT Machines, ACE Designers Ltd., Micromatic Grinding Technologies & PQIS will conduct sessions at this workshop. Presentations will be accompanied by practical illustrations and case studies. The workshop will be highly interactive where participants will be able to discuss specific problems in maintenance and solicit feedback from the expert faculty.
PLANT VISITS
With a view to provide practical exposure on diagnostics and trouble shooting of various Sub-systems in CNC Machine Tools, plant visits to TAL manufacturing Solutions Ltd , Premier Ltd & PMT Machines has been organised on day 2 (i.e. 6th October 2008).
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE
This workshop is targeted towards Managers, Engineers and Middle Management personnel involved in the functions of Production, Maintenance, Application Engineering, Servicing and other related functions from Machine Tool, Automobile and Auto ancillaries, Tool Rooms, Aerospace, Defence & Railway establishments, General Engineering and other manufacturing industries. A multi disciplinary team from cross-functional areas recommended.
Note: Participants are expected to have a basic working knowledge of CNC Machines as the constructional aspects of CNC machines will not be discussed in this workshop.
REGISTRATION
In order to cover costs of organising this 3 day workshop, registration charges will be Rs.8500/- per participant, which includes Course material, Lunch, Coffee/Tea. This is a non-residential programme. Registration will be taken on ’First come First’ basis. Companies interested in participation are requested to return the enclosed 'Reply Form’, along with a Demand Draft/Cheque payable at Pune (Out-station cheques not acceptable), in favour of ‘Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association’, on or before 29th September 2008, at the address mentioned in the reply form.
