India Aviation 08 all set for a spectacular opening in Hyderabad Print E-mail

India Aviation 08, jointly organized by Ministry of Civil Aviation and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), is all set for inauguration at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad tomorrow.

India Aviation is the first ever civil aviation expo that has drawn the attention of enormous number of companies related to the Aviation Industry from across the world. With the presence of aviation majors, United States being the partner country and Andhra Pradesh as the host state, the event will pave the way for India becoming a major aviation hub in the near future apart from establishing the event as a major civil aviation exposition in this part of the world.

The event will be flagged-off by Honourable Minister for Aviation, Mr. Praful Patel. This will be preceded by a spectacular fly-past by Surya Kiran of the Indian Air Force.  Aero Club of India will have a thrilling display of Para-sailing, Para-jumping and Hot-air-ballooning during the opening ceremony. A theme-pavilion showcasing the past, present and future of Indian Civil Aviation will welcome the visitors at the Exhibition Venue.  Rare photographs dating back to the birth of Indian civil aviation in 1932 and models of aircraft used by Air India in the last 75yrs would be on display.

An Airbus A-319 will arrive from Germany on 15 Oct, 08 at 12 noon. Mr.Raghu Menon, CMD Air India will take possession of the aircraft which would be inducted into Air India’s growing fleet. The arrival of the largest passenger aircraft in the world, Airbus A-380 from France on the 16th at 12noon will be another keenly awaited moment of the show. The aircraft, which is large enough to cover 3/4th of a foot-ball ground, will be on static display on 16 Oct, 08.

An exclusive open-house interactive session between the Hon’ble Minister and a congregation of more than 35 CEOs representing major Aviation Companies scheduled on 15th October, 08 would provide an opportunity to the CEOs to discuss their future plans and policy issues before the Minister and senior officials of the Ministry. Civil Aviation Ministerial delegations will also be attending this mega event.

More than 200 exhibitors from leading aviation and allied industries from around the world are participating.  Airbus, Boeing, EADS, HAL, BEL, Rolls Royce, Engine Alliance, Cessna Aircraft Company, Bell Helicopter, Textron, ATR, Bombardier etc to name a few, are some of the major exhibitors who will add glamour to this mega event.  To add to the excitement and interest of visitors, especially the young enthusiasts who would choose flying as their career, 3 simulators are on demonstration by Jeet Aerospace, A.P Aviation Academy and SRK Aviacom.

Major airlines viz; Air India, Kingfisher, Jet Airways, Spicejet etc will demonstrate their profile and services in an area covering over 12000 Sq Mtrs which also has facilities like hospitality chalets and air-conditioned pavilions. The composition of display includes 37 International and domestic aircraft from   A-380 the largest to Pushpak the smallest aeroplane, besides Boeing-777, Airbus A-330, Learjet, Global Express, Challenger, CRJ-900 (Bombardier), Gulfstream, Ilyushin, Hawker, Beechcrafts, Cessnas and Helicopters.

Apart from highlighting the proud history, amazing growth and technologically progressive present stature of Indian Civil Aviation, the event also aims at providing a platform for meeting of various aviation industries in order to forge partnership alliances and transfer of latest technology. 

Meeting between companies and government officials during the event is expected to result in several major business announcements by leading companies in the span of the 4-day event. The huge presence of both international and domestic media will help project the event globally. One of the business transactions expected will be the inking of a MRO joint venture agreement between NACIL (Air India) and EADS of France.

An International Conference on Civil Aviation, with panel discussions by eminent aviation experts and industry leaders from more than 20 countries is scheduled for 16th October 2008.  The conference aims to bring into focus the cutting edge issues in aviation sector and help to prepare a roadmap for future development of aviation in the country.  

On the eve of the opening ceremony, Begumpet airport looks very interesting with most participants giving finishing touches to their stalls and with aircrafts landing for the show. Some of the aircrafts that have landed as of now are ALH, Citation CJ2, Global Express, Eurocopter 145, Hawker 850 XP, Falcon 900 EX, HANSA, Bell Helicopter 412 and others like B-777 300ER, A-319, Learjet 60 XR, Challenger 605, CRJ 900 etc. are expected to arrive during the course of the day.

There will be spectacular daily flying display and customer demonstration flights from 0930 to 1700 hrs.  The Exhibition would be open to public on 18th October, 2008.
