Gabriel India Ltd inaugurates Parwanoo plant in Himachal Pradesh Print E-mail

Shimla – Himachal Pradesh: Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh inaugurated the Parwanoo plant of Gabriel India Ltd (GIL)., flagship company of Anand Automotive Systems yesterday.

The plant will manufacture front forks for two wheelers and shock absorbers for all vehicle segments. This facility, created to meet requirement of OEMs and the replacement market, will optimize the benefits available under the special scheme of the Government of India for hilly regions, including Himachal Pradesh, and will provide tax optimized products to the OEMs who have set up facilities in tax exempted areas like Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh.

Gabriel India Ltd inaugurates Parwanoo plant in Himachal PradeshGIL, Parwanoo plant employs 197 people out of which 87 are women.  This plant would create additional opportunities for employment for more than 300 nos. in Himachal Pradesh through vendors. The new manufacturing unit has the installed capacity of 2.4 million Shock Absorbers, 0.3million Front Forks and 0.4 million Struts per annum.

Most of the plant employees are Operating Engineers having three years Engineering Diploma from Polytechnics of Himachal Pradesh.
