Official ceremony marks opening of trade show and Exhibition Grounds

Hannover/Ho Chi Minh City. For the second time EPM Vietnam embraced three trade shows under one roof: EPM - Machine Tool Saigon, EPM - Energy Electricity & Environmental Protection and H20 Vietnam (organizer: Planetfair). The three shows were brought together by Hannover-Messe International GmbH in close cooperation with co-organizer Chan Chao International Co. Ltd., Taipei/Taiwan. The four-day event took place from 30 October to 2 November and was attended by 6,300 trade visitors, who gained a comprehensive overview of all the key areas of industrial machinery and equipment.

Large number of foreign exhibitors

A total number of 134 companies from 12 nations, including a large number of foreign exhibitors, presented their innovations on an area of around 4,500 m2. Taiwan, Singapore, China, France and the Federal Republic of Germany all had their own pavilions.

Vietnam's leading industrial show opened on 30 October at the new Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. Both trade show and Exhibition Grounds were formally opened at an official ceremony. Feedback from exhibitors about the attractive venue was positive. Indeed, the new centre sets international standards for optimal service and outstanding quality, and will continue to do so.

The Federal Republic of Germany was represented by a prestigious joint display. The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) supports this national display and provides assistance to participating German companies, who used their presence at the EPM to open doors to the lucrative Vietnamese market. Attendance at EPM Vietnam offered 23 German companies - as well as other companies - excellent prospects in terms of benefiting from Vietnam's economic boom, as they have excellent opportunities to establish themselves locally as business partners and can consolidate their business contacts with Vietnamese companies from all major sectors of industry.

The exhibition program embraced machinery for metal-working, products from the energy industry, trends and technologies in electrical engineering and electronics, as well as technology in the environmental protection and water treatment sectors. Under the title of "EPM LINKAGE" it is planned to add further industrial areas to the range of exhibition topics next year.

The new event "EPM LINKAGE" will run from 15 to 17 October 2009, once again at the SECC in Ho Chi Minh City.
