Danfoss India cleared for Controls export to China

Chennai: Danfoss India, a subsidiary of Danfoss of Denmark, is steadily increasing its production base in India and targets large export of products from India. This global leader in mechanical and electronic controls and solutions is considering a second production location as a part of its aggressive production plan in India.

Recently Danfoss India was cleared to export their KP pressure controls to China. The achievement of China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) is a major mile stone in the export plans of Danfoss India as majority of their exports are planned to China.

A notable achievement in the Indian export scenario, the China Compulsory Certificate mark (CCC), is a compulsory safety mark for products sold on the Chinese market. While continuing to expand its production in India, Danfoss will utilize this certification as a step toward expansion of its export oriented unit (EOU) production portfolio in India.

“We consider CCC certification a pivotal aspect with reference to our priority markets for export. Danfoss India hopes to expand the production portfolio for the EOU in India, and the export of our KP controls marks the beginning of this strategy. We believe that this opens up new opportunities for us and we fully intend to capitalise on it”, said M. Anuraaga Chandra, Vice President, Danfoss Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Division Danfoss Industries Pvt Ltd.

The Danfoss EOU has a production/Installed Capacity of 180,000 KP controls per annum and plans a production of 130,000 pieces for the year 2009 of which 30%-35% is expected to be sold in China. In 2010, the production is planed to reach 180,000 pieces, 30% of which will be sold in the Chinese market. Danfoss India exports to its wholesalers in China.

Danfoss in India is busy working out a roadmap for its India operations for the next decade. The company has so far invested $4 million in India, employed 114 people and achieved sales of $50 million last year. Danfoss expects sales from India to cross $200 million by 2012. Globally Danfoss sources about 2 Billion US Dollars worth components and the plan is to make India a major sourcing hub for global operations of Danfoss

“Danfoss Pvt. Ltd in India remains committed to the strategy for developing and expanding our business and production across the sub-continent. We will continue to investigate opportunities for expanding our production in a new location and we will focus on R&D activities for innovation - the foundation of our business.” said Mr. K. Hariharan, President and Director, Danfoss India Pvt. Ltd.
