Largest Overseas Participation ever: Fair Expected to Generate Business enquiries worth Rs. 6,000 Crore

Bangalore: IMTEX 2009 – the largest exhibition of machine tools and manufacturing solutions in South & South East Asia is being held in Bangalore – the hub of the machine tool industry. Organised by Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), IMTEX 2009 is scheduled from 22 - 28 January at IMTMA's own state-of-the-art exhibition facility – Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) on Tumkur Road. IMTMA is also holding as a concurrent fair, Tooltech 2009 – the 11th international exhibition of cutting tools and tooling technology systems.

AnbuAddressing a press conference here today, Mr. Shailesh Sheth, Media Chairman - IMTMA, said IMTEX and Tooltech will showcase the new-found confidence of the Indian Machine Tool industry in taking on new challenges amidst the changing market environment. The exhibition will display break through 'live' machine tools and manufacturing solutions from all the world's best known brands in this product segment.

IMTEX and Tooltech are being held amidst machine tool industry slowdown and challenging economic environment. According to Mr. N.K. Dhand, President of IMTMA, the industry would survive this phase with the government and the industry taking unanimous policy changing decisions and corrective measures with the larger picture of the industry in focus.

Spread across 40,000 square metres, the exhibition features 900 exhibitions, including half from overseas representing over 25 countries. Key highlight of the exhibition are seven country group participation from China, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Korea, Spain and Taiwan. Other major countries represented at IMTEX and Tooltech 2009 include Austria, Holland, Belgium, Israel, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, Thailand, The Netherlands, Finland, Romania, Turkey, France, Russia, United Kingdom, Singapore and United States of America.

Besides, over 95 % of Indian metal cutting machine tool industry will be represented at IMTEX 2009 & Tooltech 2009 – making it the most preferred platform unanimously across the industry year after year.

After the exalting success of IMTEX and Tooltech 2007 with Business contracts worth Rs 6,000 million and enquiries worth Rs. 50,000 million, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturer's Association (IMTMA), is all set to create a new benchmark with IMTEX 2009.

This apex b2b event will feature the most modern metal-cutting machine tools and manufacturing solutions from across the globe, IMTEX 2009 and Tooltech 2009 seeks to reactivate the industry enthusiasm and reinforce the feel good factor against all odds of the market slowdown.

In his comments, Mr. Shailesh Sheth said "this IMTEX 2009 is set to break other records as well. The total value of exhibits at IMTEX 2009 is a record of Rs. 350 crores. We further estimate orders worth Rs. 600 crores and business enquiries worth Rs. 6,000 crores to be generated out of this IMTEX." He added that all of this translates to increased visitor interest, which is also expected to be phenomenal.

IMTEX 2009 will receive high-level domestic delegations from the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Indian Electrical & Electronic Manufacturers Association (IEEMA), Indian Ordnance Factories, Indian Railways, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Tractor Manufacturers Association (TMA) besides other high-level international delegations.

Held every two years in Bangalore, IMTEX 2009 is amongst the five largest international shows. Globally IMTEX helps in sketching Bangalore in the map of the machine tool industry. In its 40th year, IMTEX has grown over the years into a sough after global event for the entire industry. Tooltech 2009 has a comprehensive display of metalworking machine tools, cutting tools, tooling systems, machine tool accessories, metrology and CAD/CAM.
