Bangalore : IMTEX 2009 – the largest exhibition of machine tools and manufacturing solutions in South & South East Asia is being held in Bangalore – the hub of the machine tool industry. This apex b2b event will feature the most modern metal-cutting machine tools and manufacturing solutions from across the globe.

The exhibition will be inaugurated today. Chief Guests include Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Hon'ble Minister of State for Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India and Dr. V. Krishnamurthy, Hon'ble Chairman, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council.

They will be joined by Mr. Jamshyd N. Godrej, Chairman, Exhibitions - IMTMA, Mr. N. K. Dhand, President - IMTMA, Dr. Yoshiharu Inaba, President and CEO, Fanuc Limited, Japan, Dr. S. N. Dash, ecretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Govt of India, Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Corporate Services Limited, Mr. M. Lokeswara Rao,  Vice President - IMTMA.

IMTEX 2009 will receive high-level domestic delegations from the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Indian Electrical & Electronic Manufacturers Association (IEEMA), Indian Ordnance Factories, Indian Railways, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Tractor Manufacturers Association (TMA) besides other high-level international delegations.

Organised by Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), IMTEX 2009 is scheduled from 22 - 28 January at IMTMA's own state-of-the-art exhibition facility – Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) on Tumkur Road. IMTMA is also holding as a concurrent fair, Tooltech 2009 – the 11th international exhibition of cutting tools and tooling technology systems.

Spread across 40,000 square metres, the exhibition features 900 exhibitors, including half from overseas representing over 25 countries.
