Bangalore: The largest Machine Tool exhibition of south Asia, IMTEX 2009, which started in Bangalore on 22nd January, is attracting a large number of visitors from the Industry even in the background of the global down turn.

"The large number of quality visitors to our stall gives an impression that the current slowdown is not going to last long. The feel good factor is high and we see the enthusiasm of customers to invest in latest technology machines." said Mr.Vivek Sharma, the Managing Director of MAZAK, the largest Machine Tool Company of the world.

"People are investing. We already got some good orders. The trend is moving to Aerospace compared to focus on Auto-components in last few years," according to Mr.Wilson Thomas, COO of Carl Zeiss, the world's leading Metrology company.

Ms.Sonali Kulkarni, President & CEO of Fanuc India, one of the leading companies in this segment was quite happy to tell us that "IMTEX 2009 exceeded our expectations. Initially we were apprehensive. Number of visitors, from even far away places, visiting our stall and the quality of the visitors are quite encouraging. We met lots of people who are very optimistic. Must compliment Bangalore International Exhibition Centre for the great facilities, arrangements and the landscaping."

Mr.N.K Dhand, the President of IMTMA was happy to note that the hard work of his team that went behind organizing such a big Machine Tool Show really paid off and the participants and visitors are both happy with the facilities provided. The show is a big success in terms of number of business visitors, quality of exhibits and amount of business being generated.

Covering 40,000 Sq.Mts. at the state of the art Bangalore Exhibition Centre, IMTEX 2009 has more than 900 exhibitors from about 25 countries displaying the latest products.

"I came here with an apprehension that we would see empty stalls at IMTEX  2009 and all our hard work to display machines here would go waste. As they say Fortune favors the brave, we have had an excellent response to our new and innovative Machines that we displayed" said Mr. Gaurav Sarup, Director of Spinner Machines.

A visitor to the exhibition, Mr.P.Sanjeevi, General Manager of Microsys Design Lab of Singapore who came all the way from Singapore to visit the exhibition was happy that he came as he could initiate discussions with some of the very important prospects for his business.

IMTEX 2009 is providing an excellent opportunity for manufacturing companies to see the options available to upgrade their facilities to improve quality, productivity and profitability.
