Skoda Auto India announces change of personnel in top management Print E-mail

Mumbai : With effect from June 1st, 2009, Karsten Bogun, Managing Director Commercial Affairs, will retire from Skoda Auto India after his distinguished tenure in India. He will take up new responsibilities as CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of the VW Braunschweig plant in Germany. Jean-Marie Lagey will continue in his role as Managing Director, Technical Affairs for Skoda Auto in India. Mr. Sanjay Mundade (37 yrs) has been pronounced Member of the Board as Director Commercial Affairs and Mr. Makarand Deshpande (46 yrs) has been elevated to the Board of Skoda Auto India as Director HR & Administration.

Thomas Kuehl remains in his position as Member of the Board of Directors for Sales & Marketing. In this role he is solely responsible for the business and operations of the Skoda Auto in India and is also the spokesperson for the brand.

Bogun joined Skoda Auto India in December 2006 and played a vital role in the company’s financial sphere. "The entire team of Skoda Auto India has worked hard to firm up and enhance our position in the Indian Automotive Market over the last years. With the introduction the recent launches of the new Superb and Laura, as well as the advancements in its service offerings, Skoda India is well prepared for a bright future", said Mr. Bogun in his farewell address.

All the above changes will be effective from 1st of June 2009.
