Mumbai: Marking the complete integration of VOGEL into SKF, a global provider of bearings, seals and related products and services, the company will now offer expertise in lubrication systems under one brand name. As of 1st July 2009 Willy Vogel AG will operate under the name of SKF Lubrication Systems.

All lubrication systems, engineered solutions and services will now be offered under the SKF brand only, instead of the presently dual branded SKF VOGEL.

The SKF group acquired Willy Vogel AG, an innovative and leading player in the world of lubrication technology in 2004.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Rakesh Makhija, Managing Director, SKF India Ltd said, "The acquisition of Willy Vogel AG was strategically important to SKF’s objective of having a leading role in all its technology platforms. It has enabled the Group to significantly strengthen its competitive position across several technology areas in the international market. Customers can now rely on standard lubrication systems, customized units and complete solutions integrating bearings, lubrication and sealing."

For customers this will result in direct access to SKF’s complete range of products, solutions and services. It will also provide a highly efficient service level, from initial consultation to final delivery.

SKF has manufacturing plants in Bangalore and Pune. SKF India also has an associate company called SKF Technologies (India) Pvt Ltd providing sealing solutions.
