Union Power Minister to meet manufacturers and independent developers |

New Delhi: To give impetus to the ongoing capacity addition programme, the Union Power Minister Shri Sushilkumar Shinde will hold separate meetings with manufacturers and independent developers.
The meetings follow the Conference of Power Ministers of all States and UTs chaired by Shri Shinde in the national capital recently. The total targeted capacity for the 11Th Plan is 78,700 MW. The target for the 100 days Programme of capacity addition by the new Government is 5653 MW.
The meeting with independent power producers is being scheduled in New Delhi on the 14th of July, 2009. About 15 to 20 important independent developers including Tata Power and Reliance Power Ltd. are expected to attend. The meeting will review the contribution of private sector in the 9th and 10th Plan and will also take stock of the status of projects being implemented by them during the 11th plan.
The meeting with the equipment manufacturing companies, also in New Delhi, is being convened on the 16th of July 2009 to discuss issues related to manufacturing capacity for Power Plant equipments. Besides BHEL, several manufacturing companies including L&T, Bharat Forge, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, JSW and Toshiba are likely to attend. |
