BOSCH launches new range of professional cordless power tools in India Print E-mail

Bangalore: Bosch Power Tools Ltd, a division of 45 billion Euro Bosch group, launched its new range of five cordless power tools based on Lithium Ion technology. Ranging from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 35000, these include Cordless Screw Drivers, Drill Drivers, Impact Wrenches, Multi tool and Rotary Hammers.

In India the company plans to introduce the new products in a phased manner through a net work of more than 600 Bosch authorized dealers and channel partners across 150 cities.

The world power tool industry is valued over $9 billion with the global demand for power tools expected to rise nearly six percent yearly through 2009. The Power Tools market in India has been witnessing a double digit growth each year and has been on an aggressive expansion drive, having launched more than 35 new tools this year.

"The Bosch Power Tools Ltd manufacturing plant in Bangalore is responsible for 35% of the sales in terms of volume," said Vijay Pandey, Regional Sales Director-India and SAARC, Bosch power tools.

"With our strong position in the market, the continued support of our customers and our focus on innovations, we are optimistic about achieving a double digit growth in 2009 in India" said Mr. Vijay Pandey.

Bosch has been present in India for more than 80 years and has grown over the years to 13 manufacturing sites and 4 development centres. The Bosch group companies in India which together touched a turn over of Rs.6400 crores in the year 2008. Bosch Power Tools Ltd registered a 26 percent growth in turnover.

"Lithium Ion technology based Batteries used in Bosch tools offer quick recharge, longer battery life and more working hours between recharges. Designed for tough working conditions, the special housing material - Durshield, helps these tools to with stand even a 2 meter fall on concrete. Special electronic circuits protect the tools against overload and overheating problems" said Mr. Vijay Pandey.

Bosch offers more than 2000 accessories compatible with its power tools in India. Centralized stock management system ensures ready availability of spares and accessories.
