New Delhi: The 3rd Renewable Energy India 2009 Expo, which showcased solar, wind, hydro, bio, geothermal energy, co-generation and energy efficiency  technologies, concluded here today on a triumphant note.

Exhibitors from 27 countries displayed innovative solutions to make renewable energy application more viable and some of them used the trade platform to launch their products in the Indian market.

The products launched at the Expo include wind electric generators (WEGs), hydraulic and mechanical items, wind monitoring and analysis systems, blades for WEGs, solar water heaters, HED lights, solar powered lighting systems, solar inverters, electric vehicles, solar LED lanterns, bio mass cook stoves and energy efficient equipments for power generation, transmission and distribution.

In a move to bridge the innovators of tomorrow with the renewable energy sector, an interactive 'Youth Summit' invited panelists from the industry, academia and R&D experts to a discussion on challenges facing the Industry today and how the youth could help in building a sustainable future. The forum discussed various education programs and the industry support given to viable green initiatives.

Sponsored by Garrad Hassan & Partners Ltd (UK), the Youth Entrepreneurial Green Awards 2009 highlighted innovative concepts & projects including the display of the Solar powered car. 10 shortlisted projects were on display at the expo and the winner was announced following the 'Youth Summit'.
