Bangalore: Schneider Electric India is all set to organize the next edition of it's Innovation Challenge, a contest for undergraduate engineering students where they will have to come up with an innovative solution to one of the problems stated.

"Through Innovation Challenge, we are trying to encourage the young engineers to showcase their brilliance as well as trying to build a commitment to research and development" said Mr. Daniel Gheno, Director - Global Technology Centre, Schneider Electric India.

The winning team will receive a cash reward of Rs.1 Lakh and an internship opportunity at Schneider Electric, in addition to certificates and trophies.

The participating teams need to submit white papers to Schneider Electric. An internal jury will assess the presentations and select the best entries. Based on the preliminary evaluation, ten teams will be short-listed for the final round in Bangalore. The short listed teams will be invited to present their solutions at Schneider Electric’s R&D facility in Bangalore.

Each team will be allotted a time of 20 minutes for presentation and another 10 minutes for Q&A. An eminent panel of judges selected from academia and the corporate world will assess the presentations and decide on the winners.

"Now in its 5th year Innovation Challenge is getting bigger, reaching out to every top engineering college in India," said Mr. Daniel Gheno.
