Elcon enters into license arrangement with RENK Germany Print E-mail

 Vadodara: Elcon Engineering Company Ltd (EECL), manufacturing gearboxes, has entered into license arrangement with Germany's RENK AG, for manufacturing gearboxes which are used in coal mills, and vertical roller mills in cement manufacturing. This agreement will make it the first in the country to manufacture these special gearboxes.  Currently Indian coal mills and cement industries are importing this gearboxes from Japan and Europe.

 EECL will avail technical expertise for designing and manufacturing vertical roller mill(VRM) and drive gear boxes from RENK. The Vallabhvidyanagar-based company can manufacture vertical roller mill (VRM) and drive gearboxes, without changing its current production facilities. The company is also engaged in  producing industrial gear as well as material handling equipment.

 Prayasvin Patel , President and Managing Director of EECL,  said that the company had orders amounting to Rs 1,300 crore. Orders worth Rs 1,000 crore were given by PSU's like Damodar Valley Corporation and NTPC. He also said the the company had received India's first indigenous aircraft carrier's gearbox order.
 
 EECL has also signed a pact with Belgium's Turbowinds, for setting-up windmill farms in Gujarat. The company plans to foray into windmill and windmill gearboxes, with an investment of more than Rs 80 crore.
