SAEINDIA International Mobility Congress to be held in Chennai Print E-mail

Mumbai: The 6th SAEINDIA International Mobility Congress will be held in Chennai, from 13 December to 15 December 2009, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. This year's theme is "Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Mobility".

The biennial congress will have parallel technical sessions during the three days covering 64 technical papers. The Congress addresses issues of all forms of mobility on land, air and sea. The topics are intended to provide research as well as applied inputs to vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and experts developing subsystems, parts, test devices, development tools systems, quality assurance and logistics.

"India is emerging as an important destination for frugal engineering, and SAEINDIA is a platform that helps prepare a mobility-engineering work force to harness, develop and manage innovative technologies. Rapid depletion of available fuels is of serious concern to Mobility. The challenges require sharply honed human resources to provide breakthrough innovative technologies. This brings new opportunity to India Inc to become the strong global powerhouse in frugal engineering," said M. S .Kumar, President SAEINDIA.

Participating companies include Maruti Udyog Limited, Hinduja Group, Ashok Leyland. Bosch, Ford, Mahindra & Mahindra, Amalgamations, Delphi, TVS and government organizations such as ARAI, NATRIP, CII, etc.

The Congress is expected to attract about 800 delegates from different parts of the world. Dr. V Sumantran, Executive Vice Chairman, Hinduja Automotive is the Chairman of the convention. Dr David L Schutt, CEO, SAE International, USA would be present at the summit.

SAEINDIA will confer a lifetime achievement award to Padma Shri Dr A. Sivasailam, Chairman of the Amalgamation group.
