Mumbai: Kabra Extrusiontechnik, a plastic extrusion machinery maker, proposes to upgrade and expand its existing manufacturing facilities located at Kachigam, Daman at a total outlay of about Rs 85 crores to be invested phase wise over next three financial years.

Phased investments will be made in machinery, utilities and other fixed assets and will be financed mainly from internal resources. The company is in the process of finalizing arrangements to acquire a factory building and built up area of about 1,00,000 sq. ft.

The expansion will see the introduction of new product lines at Kabra Extrusiontechnik. It will facilitate the manufacture of high-end high-output mono and multilayer film plants and bag on roll equipments. Technical support to manufacture these new plants will be available from Gloucester Engineering Company, a well US based manufacturer and exporter of such plants.

The company expects the boom in construction, infrastructure, telecom, agriculture, irrigation and flexible packaging sector, with focus on pipes and multilayer film, to ensure growth of advanced technology pipe and film plants manufactured by the company.

With this the company expects to widen its global presence and recognition and it's sales and production are expected to be more than double of the present performance by the end of financial year 2013-2014.

The expansion will be undertaken at village Dunetha, Daman which is at a distance of few miles from existing unit.

The project details were reviewed and the proposal was approved by the company's board, at its meeting held on 30th January 2010.
