Seven industrial zones to come up in Nanguneri Print E-mail

 Chennai: Seven sector-specific industries will come up in the dispute-free part of the Nanguneri industrial park, in the southern Tirunelveli district, the State Government announced on Wednesday. The industries short-listed include automobile engineering, Information Technology, electronic hardware, logistics and pharmaceuticals.  The seven industrial zones, spread over various fields, will come up in a 616 hectare area and these units will commence operations soon.

 The seven industries to be set up at Nanguneri include engineering industries (121 hectares), motor vehicles’ spare parts manufacturing units (110 hectares), electronic and hardware manufacturing plants (107 hectares), pharmaceutical units (185 hectares), information technology units (10 hectares) and bio-technology factories (13 hectares).

  The official release said that the multiindustry SEZ proposal was being given up with a view to start many industries quickly, for which the process of land acquisition had commenced.
