Sunflag enters technological pact with Daido Steel for specialty steel Print E-mail

Mumbai: Sunflag Iron & Steel Company Ltd has entered into a technological pact with Japanese steel firm Daido Steel. The Company's incremental investments for adding up new and up-to-date technologies for producing special steels are being planned.

The deal would help the Company to produce high quality specialty steel to feed the rising demand from automobile customers. In addition to providing Daido Steel with a base in India, Sunflag Iron & Steel Company will pay fee for the technical collaboration.

This is part of the company's Rs 400 crore expansion project.

Sunflag Iron & Steel is in the process of expanding production capacity at it's plant in Maharashtra from 4 lakh tonnes to 6.5 lakh tonnes by 2013.

This technical collaboration will enable the company to cater to the increasing demand for high quality specialty steel from the Japanese car makers in India.
