Triveni renews agreement with Lufkin to make high speed gears & gear boxes Print E-mail

New Delhi: Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd. (Triveni), engaged in the manufacture of engineered-to-order mechanical equipment, such as steam turbines, high-speed gears,water and waste-water treatment equipment, has signed an agreement with high-speed gear manufacturer,Lufkin Industries Inc., Texas, USA.

The new license agreement is for a period of twelve years and it covers manufacture of extended range of steam turbine gear boxes upto 62 MW, gear boxes for compressors and load gear boxes for gas turbines apart from gear boxes for mechanical drives like pumps, fans and blowers driven by electric motors, steam turbines or diesel engines.

The geographical coverage of the agreement has also been extended to cover major markets in South East Asia such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.

Triveni's gear business has grown at a CAGR of 30% in revenue while the growth in profitability has been over 60% during the FY05- FY10 period. The business has its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mysore and has been a leading supplier of gear boxes to all major OEMs of steam turbines in India.Apart from its high quality product manufacturing capability, it has a strong after-market business including refurbishment, re-engineering ,etc, of all makes of gear boxes.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Tarun Sawhney, Executive Director, Triveni,with Mr. Terry L Orr, Vice President and GM,Lufkin Industries, on January 12,2011 at Houston , USA.

Triveni is the market leader in high speed gears and gear boxes in India. Its association with Lufkin dates back to 1998 when the first agreement was signed.
