Electropneumatics & IMTMA to set up Metal Forming Technology Training Centre Print E-mail

Bangalore: Pune based hydraulic machine tool manufacturer Electropneumatics and Hydraulics (India) Pvt. Ltd. and the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up a Metal Forming Technology Training Centre in Pune, India.

The training centre, which is scheduled to commence activity by 2012, will be named Rasquinha- IMTMA Metal Forming Technology Training Centre. It will impart training in sheet-metal and other metal forming technologies.

A. Rasquinha, the Chairman and M.D. of Electropneumatics and Hydraulics (India) Pvt. Ltd, will donate 1.5 acres of land in Pune to set up the Centre. It will have a shop floor with machinery and equipment worth approximately Rs. 1 crore. The Centre will also have classrooms and an administrative office.

Short, medium and long-term certificate courses will be conducted, with hands-on training on machines and production equipment. The center will also provide facilities for applied research.

There is currently an increase in adoption of metal forming technology for the manufacture of various parts and components in automotive, aerospace, medical, electronic equipment and consumer goods sectors. The training center will help meet the need for a skilled workforce, in addition to providing technical help to the users of these metal forming machines.

The MoU was signed by A. Rasquinha, the Chairman and M.D. of Electropneumatics and Hydraulics (India) Pvt. Ltd. and V. Anbu, Executive Director, IMTMA during the inaugural ceremony of the recently held IMTEX, in Bangalore.
