Brighton Equipment Corp to set up Nuclear Power Equipment Plant in A.P. Print E-mail

Hyderabad: Brighton Equipment Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Government for setting up a Rs.2900 Crore Nuclear Power Equipment Plant at Nakkapally Village, Viskhapatnam district. The MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy.

The company will manufacture very large forged steel components used in third generation nuclear power plants for Indian and international markets. Brighton Group chairperson Kit Kung said that they propose to convert the manufacturing facility to a SEZ. The goods manufactured here will not only marketed in India but also abroad.

The Chief Minister has also assured all cooperation for speedy completion of the Plant from the State Government. He also informed that the 800 acres land earmarked for this company is absolutely problem free Government land and stated that land will also be reserved for establishment of ancillary units there.

He expressed happiness over the Brighton's quick decision on establishing the Mega Manufacturing Unit in the State.

The company will provide direct employment to 2,500 skilled persons. The company plans to start the production in two years. Company Officials said that the plant, along with it's ancillary units , will employ about one lakh people. Senior officials stated that the plant would be completed in 5 years time.

In addition to forged steel components, which would be used in nuclear power plants, the company will also manufacture large components for the ship building industry, petrochemicals and conventional power plants.

This is one of the biggest foreign direct investment (FDI) manufacturing projects in the state during the recent times. The state government assured to provide all infrastructure facilities like water, power and road connectivity.

Dr.(Mrs.) J.Geetha Reddy, Minister for Major Industries, Mr. Sam Bob, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce Dept., Mr. B.R.Meena, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, APPIIC, Mr.Ravinder Reddy, Partner of the Brighton Project, Mr.Ch.Sarath Babu, Director of Brighton and other senior official were present on the occassion.

Brighton Equipment Corporation (Brighton) represents the consolidation of the Brighton Group of Companies founded by Mr. Kit Kung in 1980. Currently, Brighton maintains field offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taiyuan, Chongqing and Wuhan. The Far East headquarters located in Hong Kong provides administrative and technical support to the field offices.
