The plant is being set up with an investment of Rs. 160 crore (approx 3.2 billion Yen) and it is expected to begin production in November 2011. It will have an initial capacity to manufacture 100 units per year. The company expects to employ around 70 people by the end of 2011.

"The demand of crawler cranes in India, which reached about 200 units in 2010, is expected to grow to 700 units in the next few years considering the strong infrastructure development across India", said Tatsuo Tabushi, Managing Director, Kobelco Cranes India.

Very shortly, the Japanese Enclave at Sri City will have four more companies establishing their presence.
