Anand Automotive Group to invest Rs 1300-1500 cr over next five years Print E-mail

New Delhi: Anand Automotive Group plans to invest Rs 1300-1500 crores in capacity expansion for the next five years. "The Group recorded a sales turnover of US$700mn in 2009, with a target to achieve US$2bn by 2014. Anand Automotive Group has an investment plan of Rs 1300-1500 crores for the next five years for new plants and new joint ventures in the automotive sector and capacity building in existing plants," said KC Anand, Member, Deep C Anand Foundation, Anand Automotive Group. Anand currently employs around 8000 people. The company plans to achieve an employee-strength of 13000 by 2014.

The chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, recently inaugurated the second plant of Mahle Filter Systems (India) Ltd at Parwanoo. The new plant, Parwanoo Unit - II caters to customers like Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, M&M, GM, Bosch etc. It will also cater to the requirements of the replacement market in India and for exports.

"At the initial stage, the 45th plant of Anand Group will generate direct and indirect employment for more than 150 people and increased production in future will result in further job opportunities. This project once again demonstrates the Group’s commitment towards the state of Himachal Pradesh, particularly Parwanoo, where it has manufacturing facilities since 1976," said KC Anand.

"The plant went into production on 19th March 2010 and will generate annual revenue of  Rs. 250mn this year. The proposed installed capacity of the plant is expected to be 22 million filters per annum," said Sunil Nair, COO, Mahle Filter Systems India Limited.

The new plant of Mahle at Parwanoo manufactures PU Moulded filter elements, Ecological Plastic Embedded filter elements, Lube Oil spin-on filters with new crimping design, and high technology air management products. The process in the plant include Poly-urethane Moulded elements, Filter Paper Embedment into Plastic and Felt media, Crimping process for sheet metal parts.

MAHLE Filter Systems India, a joint venture between MAHLE Group of Germany and Anand, earlier known as Purolator India Limited, was established in 1966 to manufacture an extensive range of Air, Oil, Fuel and Hydraulic filters for application in the Automotive, Railway, Aviation and Earthmoving industries both for OEMs and Aftermarket.
