Imperial Auto Industries sets up manufacturing unit at Chakan Print E-mail

Pune: Imperial Auto Industries, a manufacturer of fluid transmission products, has inaugurated it's new manufacturing unit at Chakan. This is the company's 4th plant in Pune.

The plant has been set up at an investment of Rs 25 crore. It will primarily cater to the requirements of Mahindra & Mahindra.

The plant was inaugurated by Rajan Wadhera, Chief Executive (technology, product development and sourcing), Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. Mahindra has been encouraging suppliers to set up their units at the supplier park or close to it's Chakan Plant inorder to save on the logistics and facilitate better control over the supply chain.

"So far over a dozen suppliers have come to Pune of which six are the part of our supplier's park located within the Chakan plant premises," Wadhera said.

Imperial Auto Industries is expected to clock a turnover of around Rs 700 crore in the year 2010-11.

With more than 3000 employees, the company's plants are located in Faridabad, Pantnagar, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Pithampur, Pune and Bngalore. The company's fluid transmission products include Rubber Hoses & Assemblies, Metal Tube Assemblies and Flexible Hose Assemblies.

The company's export customers include Caterpillar, Cummins, FIAT Powertrain, John Deere, Navistar, General Motors, Piaggio, Triumph Motorcycles, Caterpillar, General Electric, JCB, John Deere, Terex etc.
