Yamazaki Mazak opens State of the Art Technology Centre in Pune Print E-mail

Pune: In a glittering ceremony featuring the who's who of the Engineering Industry, Yamazaki Mazak, the world's largest machine maker, unveiled it's State-of-the-Art Technology centre at Sanaswadi, Pune. This is Mazak's 78th Tech Centre worldwide.

Spread over 5 acres and with a built up area of 175,000 sq feet, the Technology Centre features a battery of Multi-Tasking Machines, Horizontal and Vertical Machining Centres, Lathes and Laser Cutting machines.

With a population of approximately 2000 machines in India, Mazak has a strong presence in Automobile, General Engineering, Agriculture, Power, Mining, Aerospace and Construction sectors.

Mazak India would now be able to offer the customer Turnkey Solutions, Component trials and run offs backed up by inspection equipments like CMM, Spindle Repair facilities, Training facility for customers and an advanced Spare Parts Storage and Retrieval system.

The Spindle repair facility is one of five that Mazak has worldwide and would greatly reduce the cost and time of spindle repair on Mazak machines.

The company plans to set up two more Technology Centres in India. These are expected to come up in Chennai and New Delhi.

Vivek Sharma, Managing Director of Mazak India said that 95% of the critical spares for machines would also be available ex-stock at the Pune Tech Centre, significantly reducing down time on machines.

"Mazak is supplying machines for Automobile, General Engineering, Agriculture, Power, Mining and Construction sectors. All these sectors are poised for good growth in future. Mazak worldwide is very strong in Aerospace and in coming years see excellent potential in India to supply machines for Commercial Aircraft components," said Vivek Sharma.

Right from process planning to optimal selection of machines, cutting tools, design and manufacture of fixtures, cutting trials, Mazak India will offer the customer a cost effective, one stop, turnkey machining solution.

The Technology Centre is equipped with an Auditorium and conference rooms for technical Seminars and a Solution Gallery which exhibits processing solutions.

Another unique service being offered is an online service facility available to all Mazak customers for trouble-shooting. A toll free number is also available for this.
