ABG Shipyard gets Industrial Licenses for Production of Defence ships Print E-mail

Mumbai: The Ministry of Commerce & industry has awarded industrial Licenses for Design & Construction of Defence ships to ABG Shipyard Ltd. The licenses have been issued for the Surat as well Dahej shipyards of ABG Shipyard Ltd.

With this the company has become qualified for building Naval Warships and Naval Support Ships, Submarines and Underwater Vessels, Fast attack Crafts, Weapons and Equipment including their Mounts, turrets, launchers, etc. along with associated systems, sub-systems and all types of assemblies for Navy, Army and the Air Force.

ABG is one of the few yards that are being approved for submarine production as well.

With this license, one of the company's long term objectives, to tap the opportunity for Defence shipbuilding in India, has been realized.
