MoD amends list of Civil Aerospace products eligible for Offsets Print E-mail

New Delhi: The Ministry of Defence has amended the list of civil aerospace products that are eligible for offsets. Technical manuals, raw materials and training have now been excluded from the list.

In the amended list test facilities for components has been explicitly introduced, Software has been elaborated, services have been explained.

The revision also introduces a note stating that where offset arrangements envisage provision of equipment by foreign vendors as a 'grant' (without being linked to a commercial arrangement), then it should be to a DPSU or a Government entity, till such time the mater is examined further.

Amended list:

- Design, Development, Manufacture, Upgrade of all types of fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft or their airframes, aero engines, avionics, instruments and related components
- Composites, forgings and castings for their products
- Training Aids vis simulators, associated equipment, software and computer based training modules
- Guidance and Navigation equipment
- Test facilities and equipment required for testing, certification, qualification and calibration of above products
- Software specially designed, developed or modified for the above products
