Rane (Madras) Limited Sales & Operating Income up 17% in Q1 2011 Print E-mail

Chennai: Rane (Madras) Limited, a manufacturer of Steering and Suspension Linkage Products & Steering Gear Products and which is a part of Rane Group, registered Sales & Operating Income of Rs.15,366 lakhs for the current quarter as against Rs.13,154 lakhs for the same quarter of the previous year - up by 17 percent.

L.Ganesh, Chairman of the Rane Group observed that in first quarter of the current fiscal, production by all original equipment manufacturers in the auto industry grew by about twenty percent in comparison with the corresponding quarter of last year resulting in corresponding growth in customer demand.

"Over the corresponding quarter of last year, Sales of RML in the domestic OEM market grew by 25% and in the domestic replacement market the growth was 23%. The company’s Profit Before Tax for the current quarter increased to Rs.742 lakhs from Rs.657 lakhs for the same quarter of the previous year. However, continuous increase in interest costs is a matter of concern," he said.

It registered an EBIDTA of Rs.1,215 lakhs up by 23% over same quarter last year and a Profit before Tax of Rs. 742 lakhs up by 13% over same quarter last year. The company's Profit after Tax was Rs 5.82 crore in QI 2011 – 2012 compared to Rs 4.61 crore in QI 2010 – 2011.
