New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged a Rs 1,395-crore contract from National Mineral Development Corporation for the setting up a raw material handling system for an integrated steel plant at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh. This is the largest-ever order for a material handling package.

It will be executed by BHEL's industrial systems group that handles orders for bulk material handling like coal and ash handling systems for thermal power plants, raw material handling and balance of plant equipment for hydro power projects.

The turnkey contract includes execution of a system that can receive raw material, perform wagon tippling, crushing, store and feed the three million tonnes per annum steel plant.
