Tata Motors wins 24th Quality Circle Punjab Preliminary Competition Print E-mail

Ludhiana: Fifteen QC teams representing companies from different industrial centres in the Northern Region participated in CII's 24th QC Circle Preliminary Competition.

"QC circles play a very important role in involving a wide cross section of employees in any organization, working together for the improvement of  Quality, through the   exchange of ideas and views and sharing the experiences and various approaches to problem solving," said Sandeep Riat, Vice- Chairperson, CII Ludhiana Zonal Council.

Teams from companies like Bharat Electronics Limited, Kotdwara,  New Swan Enterprises Limited, Ludhiana, Bharat Electronics Ltd, Ghaziabad, Denso India Ltd, Noida, Vardhman Textiles Limited, Ludhiana, Vardhman Special Steels Limited, Ludhiana, Maruti Udyog Ltd, Gurgaon, Citizen Press Components Limited, Ludhiana, Trident Group Barnala, and Mahindra Swaraj division, Mohali participated in the CII QC Competition.

Rahul Tiwari, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana awarded the trophies to the winning teams. Team ‘PARIVARTAN’ from Tata Motors Limited, Lucknow was adjudged the winners in 24th QC Competition- Preliminary. ‘BUNIYAAD’ from Bharat Electronic Limited, Ghaziabad, and ‘AMOG SHAKTI’ from Mahindra Swaraj Limited, Mohali were judged the first and second runners up respectively. A special Debut award was given to team ‘VISHWAKARMA’ from Vardhman Special Steels Limited, Ludhiana while consolation trophy was presented to team ‘VISION’ from New Swan Enterprises Limited, Ludhiana. The top two winning teams will now participate in the Regional finals as a pre runner to the national competition.

World-class quality-nothing less, will get us a place in the industrial map of the world. Quality must be the new mantra, said Rahul Tiwari.

Sharing his view, during the session Amit Jain, Chairman, CII Ludhiana Zonal Council said ‘the success behind the German or Japanese manufacturing industries is not the availability of good infrastructure or the world class technology, is their aspiration to make the Best Quality Products in the world. He also urged the participants to strive for continuous improvements both on professional and personal front and to share the learning’s to enhance the status of manufacturing in North India.

The Quality movement has gained strength in India, said B N Saxena, Management Consultant and one of the pioneers in bringing concept to Indian Industry domain.

B N Saxena, Consultant, CII TQM Division, was the Chief Judge while Manuj Mehta, President- Corporate HR, SEL Manufacturing CO. Limited Ltd and Sanjeev Kumar Jha, Asst. General Manager, DCM Engineering Products Limited were the other two judges for the QC Competition.
