MoD clears 10% divestment in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Print E-mail

Bangalore: The Ministry of Defence has cleared 10 per cent disinvestment in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). According to sources, the disinvestment is likely to take place over the next 10 years. HAL will be the third defence PSU to be disinvested after Bharat Electronics Limited and BEML.

The Finance Ministry had directed all ministries to disinvest profit making public sector undertakings (PSU). Earlier an expert group in the Government had also suggested disinvestment in HAL.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited' Order Book during the financial year 2010-11 increased by 8524 Crores. Sales for the year 2010-11 was 13,061 Crores registering a growth of 14% over the previous year.

The valuation of HAL is being worked out.
