New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), at it's manufacturing facility at Manesar, has already reached 80% of it's installed capacity of 1.2 million units per annum.

Considering the steady growth of Indian two wheeler market, the company expects to reach it's full production capacity by 2010-2011. According to HMSI CEO Mr.Shinijo Aoyama, a second plant would be necessary to meet required production beyond 2011.
Taking into consideration, the time required to establish a new plant, HMSI is planning to start the feasibility study by 2009.

HMSI is currently the largest maker of Scooters in India and the company plans to launch a new automatic Scooter, specially designed for India at the coming Auto expo in Delhi. This would be followed by a national launch in February informed Mr.Aoyama.
