New Delhi: India is fast emerging as a manufacturing hub. Robots and latest technologies in low cost automation and lasers especially in automotive sector are a growing need of this sector. To cater to this need of the automotive sector, CII is organizing the 1st Robo Conference 2008 as a Debut Conference in the 9th Auto Expo 2008 on 14-15th January 2008 at Hall no 8, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi


Auto Expo has been the glittering extravaganza of the Indian automobiles and the auto component industry for the last 18 years. 8th Auto Expo 2006 showcased around 1,150 participants from 26 countries and 150,000 business visitors. Auto Expo 2006 had a promising exposure to those who matter in the business:

 Over 1150 exhibitors: 70000 sqmtrs of area in an exclusive pavilion
 11,00,000 visitors
 1,50,000 business visitors
 Estimated orders of Rs. 468 million (USD 11 million)
 Estimated Enquiries Rs. 840 million (USD 19 million)
 International Participation from 26 countries
 Overseas delegation from 30 countries
 Joint ventures/Collaboration-100% achieved (17% of the exhibitors participated with the objective of finding JV/MoU partners)

Every Automobile Manufacturer in India is expected to participate in the Auto Expo. Presently, over 1000 auto-component manufacturers have confirmed participation in 9th Auto Expo 2008.

Robo Conference and Robo Expo are concurrent events to the Auto Expo.

CII Mission for Innovation in Manufacturing is organizing Robo Conference 2008 concurrent with 9th Auto Expo 2008 on 14th-15th January 2008. The Conference is an integral part of Robo Expo 2008 which will go on from 10th – 17th January 2008.

The objectives of the Robo Conference 2008 are:
(a) To appreciate and facilitate the introduction of Robotics, low cost automation and lasers for providing a Safe work environment that delivers high quality and consistency in your manufacturing environment.
(b) See live demonstrations on Robotics, low cost automation and lasers through the exhibition and conference where case studies and ‘state of art’ technologies would be showcased.
(c) Network with the experts and practitioners who are leaders in implementing Robotics and automation in the Manufacturing Industry, academia and Institutions.

The Robo Conference 2008 is expected to bring large participation from overseas and open new avenues for growth.

The special features to Robo Conference 2008 include:
 Parallel Robo Expo 2008 from 10th-17th January, 2008
 Parallel Robo Design Competitions for college students and school children with daily prizes
 Daily Laser Show in evening which will give participating exhibitors an additional option to market their products with laser show.

The Conference would be attended by CEOs / Decision Makers, Engineers, Production and Manufacturing heads and people from academia who are interested in this subject.
