German auto component maker Mann & Hummel to set up additional unit in India |

New Delhi: Mann and Hummel,one of the major corporations in automotive components, has plans to set up a second manufacuring facility in India. The company which develops, produces, and markets MANN+HUMMEL filter and air intake systems and other components for the automotive industry already has a plant in South India at Tumkur, Karnataka.
Established in 2006, MHB FILTER INDIA PRIVATE LTD currently supplies components for industrial applications. By the middle of this year, the company will begin its supply to the automotive industry and discussions are underway with leading Indian automotive giants like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Leyland and Maruti Suzuki for supplying its products. Mann and Hummel Filter Pvt Ltd Managing Director Peter Wink revealed that the company's growth strategy in India includes the construction of 2-3 warehouses and assembly units in India.
The company has invested Rs 45 crore in its Tumkur facility and plans further investments in India along the same lines.
Mann and Hummel Filter Pvt Ltd will focus primarily on the Indian market to provide optimum support with applications and supply of original equipment to the rapidly growing local automotive industry |
