New Delhi: The ninth edition of Auto Expo has 7 stalls by the educational institutions. The participants include Amity University, IIT-Delhi, NID Allahabad, Delhi College of Engineering, SPA (School of Planning and Architecture) BIT MISRA and R V College. Each of this stalls have demonstrated their innovative products at their respective stalls at the Expo.
IIT Delhi has come with up with two models on display, one is the IIT-Delhi Baja Car which was sponsored by JCB and is a all terrain vehicle which can be used for rough, muddy and bumpy tracks. The other vehicle that is on display includes axlr8r 2008, a formula racing car. With this car, IIT Delhi would like to win, dominate the FSAE and affect Indian presence in formula sport in their capacity as the leading technical institute in the country. SPA has designed and displayed automotive products, which are a balance mix of ergonomic, aesthetic, stylistic, technologically advanced and market driven products, said the HOD Mr. Mandeep Singh. They have displayed various products like ergonomically designed chair for Bajaj Auto, accessories for two wheelers, juice vending cart, backrest for city rider bike, vehicle designed for shopping malls, vehicle for physically challenged people, vehicle for patients with arthritis and pregnant ladies who cannot climb higher in the public vehicle and many more designs of human powered vehicles.
Amity School of Engineering and Design have come up with the India’s first Tri-Fuel Hybrid Concept car. This sleek and glistening green & black two seated car comes with multiple fuel options- Batteries, Auto LPG and Petrol. The car runs at 80-90 km on batteries on a single charge with maximum speed of 50 km/hr on batteries and 45 km/hr on engine. This car has 5-speed constant mesh gearbox coupled with a single cylinder four stroke engine.
The Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) occupying 4 stalls at the Expo, have displayed products like solar Bio-Diesel hybrid vehicle, a Supermileage Vehicle (SMV) and Solar Car. , The Bio-Diesel hybrid vehicle was recognized by the then President of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. The DCE’s SMV team is first and till date the only team from Asia to Participate in the SAE Super-mileage competition and has received stupendous response. The solar car of DCE is another project which has received appreciation, for its technicality which lies in the fact that solar energy can be harnessed in batteries through solar cells, in the form of Electric Energy and these batteries are then employed to run a wheel and hence a Solar Car. |
